My name is Arkie and I am currently initiating an interactive visual arts project in which people draw a symbol or picture that means something to them on the palm of their hands, take a photo. And then send it to me!! I am aiming to get to 500 hands. The concept for this interactive art series ties is to incorporate the personal differences of each person who submits their hands, with the idea that together the hands create our society and culture :)

If you are interested in being involved then simply draw something that means something to you. And then take a photo on webcam or by any means and send it to the email address: inthepalmofourhands@gmail.com and I will post them to the blog. If you want your name to be attached just mention that in the email with the photo. Keep in mind that these photos will be used in my final art exhibition for senior high school!

Attached is an example of what to do. But remember to make it your own! :) Thank you beautiful people!

My Life My Voice meets Tra La La Blip:Improvisation, electronic music and video performance and passion are truly the ingredients for Happiness. On Friday the 1st of July I had the privilege  of hosting a workshop that brought two inspirational musical forces together.

Tralala Blip from Lismore in NSW Australia are an amazing electronic ensemble led by Randolf Reiman. The groups participants have a range of disabilities but their performances as a premier electronic music ensemble have led them to open the prestigious Liquid Architecture Festival of Art and sound at Brisbane Powerhouse and be invited to tour Germany later this year.
The Down Syndrome Association of Queensland has had a long association with QUT and Sweetfreedom Inc when producing the award winning music video My Life My Voice. DSAQ Music therapist Kate Fletecher leads two choirs of DSAQ members on the north and south side of  Brisbane and is currently recording a CD of the  members own songs.
